Eight days Eco-Adventure (Easy Rated)

An ideal introduction to the Jordanian wilderness

Day one:

Arrival to the capital, Amman: short tour down town subject to arrival time. Overnight in Amman hotel. HB (HB=half board).

Day Two:

Canyoning in Zara Canyon Thermal Springs: Full day. Wadi Zarqa Ma’in (Valley of the God) is supposed to be a camping place. Zarqa Ma’in – a magnificent gorge; but there are only tombs to be seen in it. Then a steep and difficult path leads to the hot springs of Callirhoe. In this valley we will have easy walk, and the last 4 Km will be trekking to Ma’in Spa. Overnight in Dead Sea Hotel/HB

Day Three:

Relaxing day at the Dead Sea: Without a doubt the world’s most amazing place, the Jordan Rift Valley is a dramatic, beautiful landscape, which at the Dead Sea, is over 400m (1,312 ft.) below sea level. The lowest point on the face of the earth, this vast stretch of water receives a number of incoming rivers, including the River Jordan. Once the waters reach the Dead Sea they are land-locked and have nowhere to go, so they evaporate, leaving behind a dense, rich, cocktail of salts and minerals that supply industry, agriculture and medicine with some of its finest products. The Dead Sea is flanked by mountains to the east and the rolling hills of Jerusalem to the west, giving it an almost other-worldly beauty.

Overnight in Dead Sea 4* hotel/HB

Day Four:

Wadi Numeira is a small wadi that starts in one of the multiple springs coming from Karak, running down to the Dead Sea. Its entrance from the Dead Sea is called the Water Petra, due to its shape looking like a massive gate. It is a closed canyon, quite narrow, that protects the visitor from most of the sun through its first part.

Overnight in Petra hotel/HB.

Day Five:

Visiting Petra Full day: Petra, the world wonder, is without a doubt Jordan’s most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction. It is a vast, unique city, carved into the sheer rock face by the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled here more than 2000 years ago, turning it into an important junction for the silk, spice and other trade routes that linked China, India and southern Arabia with Egypt, Syria, Greece and Rome.

Overnight in Aqaba hotel/HB

Day Six:

Full day Aqaba for some water activities in the red sea.

Overnight Wadi Rum HB

Day Seven

Discovering Wadi Rum Wadi Rum is a protected area covering 720 square kilometers of dramatic desert wilderness in the south of Jordan. Huge mountains of sandstone and granite emerge, sheer-sided, from wide sandy valleys to reach heights of 1700 meters and more. Narrow canyons and fissures cut deep into the mountains and many conceal ancient rock drawings etched by the peoples of the desert over millennia. Bedouin tribes still live among the mountains of Rum and their large goat-hair tents are a special feature of the landscape.

Hiking in Raqaba Canyon followed by a 4x4 jeep tour.
